2. Weaving Project: Finish Branching Twill Urn Basket

   (NOTE: This is a different rim than the original pattern)

   Materials Needed:

   1/2" FO for rims

   3/8" FF for hidden rim

   #6 RR for rim filler and lower outer rim row

   Lashing of your choice, ex. 11/64" FO or 3mm FO

Whatever Basket Reveal:

• Bring your basket in the bag you took home. Deposit the bag "unmarked" in the wagon outside the Tucson Room, before going into the room. After the business meeting we will bring in the bags and display the baskets. We will have a judging by all members present to determine the top 3 baskets.

We will begin working on the Salsa Basket. Materials needed are:

Spokes: #5 reed for base – 1 ½ yards, #4 reed for sides – 2 oz.

Weavers: #2 reed for base & sides – 7 oz., #3 reed for 4-rod coil – 2 yards

At the December meeting we will begin a “Whatever Basket” Challenge. Each person who wants to participate will be given a surprise bag to take home and make a "Whatever Basket”. This pattern is called the “Whatever Basket” because it must be made with “whatever” is available in your scrap box or received in your surprise bag. Bring it back to the January meeting for the big reveal and judging.

2. We will be finishing our basket by completing the rim this week. Materials needed are:

   1. 5/8 inch Flat Oval approx 8 ft

   2. #6 Round Reed approx 3 feet for rim filler

   3. #6 Round Reed under the rim approx 3 to 4 ft

   4. 11/64 inch or 3/16 inch Flat Oval approx 21 to 24 feet

2. We will be weaving the sides of our basket. The following is the reed needed for this:

   1. Flat Oval sizes 11/64 inch, 3/16 inch and 1/4 inch

   2. 11/64 FO approx 30 ft

   3. 3/16 FO approx 32 ft

   4. 1/4 FO approx 40 ft
