History & Mission

Basket Artisans of Arizona was founded in 1986.

Our mission is to weave baskets and to learn all we can about the time-honored practices and techniques of basket weaving.

We promote basketry as a craft and art form through education at our meetings, classes, demonstrations, and exhibits.

We welcome beginner, experienced, and professional weavers, as well as collectors of baskets and other fiber arts.
